Volunteers for Newcomers and Visiting Scholars

“NVS Faces and Stories” is an exhibition of photographs by Ukrainian photographer Dasha Tenditna that is on display in the University Centre from 14 February 2024. The exhibition is free and available to visit during University Centre opening hours.

Newcomers and Visiting Scholars (NVS) is a volunteer-run organisation for university members and their families who are invited to become part of this community and discover more about Cambridge. “NVS Faces and Stories” is Dasha’s first photo project in Cambridge, UK.

Dasha says: “These photos are about the people who live in this wonderful city. The city that, like a magnet, attracts the finest, most interesting and talented individuals. Whether by choice or chance, the city has a transformative effect, unveiling and shaping remarkable qualities in those who become a part of this beautiful place”.

Dasha is a professional portrait and documentary photographer from Kyiv, Ukraine. She works in a natural, calm, gentle style, looking for beauty in ordinary things and diversity of life and is the author of social projects and exhibitions on such topics as domestic violence, orphanages, inclusion, war consequences.

The exhibition opening is on Wednesday 14 February 5:00-6:00pm. Tea and cakes will be served in the Riverside Suite, first floor. Everyone is welcome to attend, but please book (free) tickets via the link below.
