UCU has notified the University of the outcome of the ballot that was held in connection with proposed changes to the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).
The ballot closed on 19 January and the result is a mandate for industrial action.
A decision on proposals for USS benefit reform is expected to be reached on 23 January and a further update will be provided after the meeting.
The University understands the concern that members of USS have about the 2017 valuation, and we respect UCU’s right to ballot is members. The University is committed to providing all of its staff with access to the best pensions it can.
