The Vice-Chancellor has made a statement to staff on the USS pension scheme, pay and benefits.

The meeting provides an update on the current status of the 2018 valuation and the University’s position on USS.

UPDATED: The University has published its views on the assumptions and approach to be adopted for the 2018 valuation.

The first phase of 'cost-sharing' is being implemented. Later phases may be superseded by the new 2018 valuation.

The USS Trustee has confirmed that contribution increases under the cost-sharing rule will go ahead in April 2019. It has also given notice that it intends to conduct a new valuation of the scheme as at 31 March 2018.
