The Roadshow also gave staff and students the opportunity to try Empower, an online interactively tool which walks you round your virtual office, lab and home allowing you to see where you could make energy savings. Empower is open to all staff and students at the University and you can have a go today: http://www.environment.admin.cam.ac.uk/switch-off-week/empower. 
Away from the Roadshow environment and energy was the topic for the Administrative Open Meeting where attendees were invited to ask a panel of experts questions about why this matters to the University. As usual, the Registrary began the meeting with an update on recent developments in the higher education sector and the University. The panel featured Professor Jeremy Sanders, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Institutional Affairs, Joanna Chamberlain, Head of Environment and Energy, Kathy Hilton, Building Facilities Manager at the Gurdon Institute and Nan Taplin, Senior Secretary, Department of Italian. The topic clearly interested people, with questions and answers running over time.
