A video of the recent open meeting on USS is available to members of the University.
On Thursday 17 May, an open meeting held in the Babbage Lecture Theatre gave staff a chance to hear more about national developments around the disputed 2017 valuation of USS, and to put questions to a panel.
Speakers identified some of the problems with USS, reflected on the way forward over the next few months, and discussed what the long-term options might be, including Collective Defined Contribution (CDC).
The speakers were:
- Professor Richard Farndale, UCU pensions representative;
- Anthony Odgers, Chief Financial Officer of the University;
- Henry Tapper, Director of First Actuarial (pensions advisors to UCU).
