For staff

Staff and students speak about their experiences of lockdown.

Many staff across the University are currently working from home, while some employees are still travelling into University buildings for essential work that can only be conducted on site.

A series of videos have featured staff and students to showcase how everyone is adapting to the challenges of working from home within the restrictions of social distancing. Previous videos can be explored via the links below.

The sixth, and latest, video in this series features a range of staff talking about how they are managing to work in a different environment. They discuss the challenges of getting into the swing of work when at home, and how they miss interactions with their colleagues. However, they also see the positives of lockdown and share their tips for coping and making the best of the current situation, such as maintaining a routine and getting some fresh air.

The video below features the following employees and students:

  • Patricia Gallagher, Support Team Manager, Student Services Centre
  • Michelle Reynolds, Head of Staff Counselling
  • Tom Smith, Acting Deputy Head Porter, Girton College
  • Dr Ronita Bardhan, Department of Architecture
  • Dr Jessica Gardner (pictured), University Librarian
