For staff

USS LATEST: V-C welcomes suspension of industrial action. Focus is now on ensuring the long-term viability of USS.

As you may know, UCU members have voted to accept the latest UUK proposal and suspend industrial action. This will bring huge relief to those of our students who are about to sit examinations.

It is now important that we all continue to work together to deliver both an interim solution and long-term viability for the USS. Our academics and professional staff deserve an attractive, stable and sustainable pension that they can depend upon, just as the University needs such a scheme to retain and attract the very best talent.

I will do everything I can to help drive that process.
