For staff

Counselling session

The Staff Counselling Centre offers free and confidential short-term counselling.

The team welcomes anyone who is experiencing difficulties that are having an impact on their emotional or psychological wellbeing, whether those are personal difficulties or associated with work.

Counselling provides the opportunity to talk about whatever is troubling you in a confidential and non-judgemental setting. Staff at the counselling centre are trained in a variety of approaches, including psychodynamic approachesmindfulnessEMDR and cognitive-behavioural therapy

The counselling centre also offers workshops, therapeutic groups and reflective practice sessions, in which people can share their experiences with others and talk things through in a supportive and confidential group environment.

This short video introduces the counselling centre team and gives you a friendly walk-through of the process of referring yourself, getting an appointment, and starting sessions (in person or online).

Visit the Staff Counselling Centre website to learn more. The Counselling Centre is open to anyone with a contract of employment with the University (TES staff are not eligible) and to most College staff (see information for College staff).
