For staff

Online training course to help staff to prepare for new data protection law that comes into force next month.

As part of the preparations for changes to data protection law from May this year, the University has recently issued a new Data Protection Policy

Among other things, the Policy makes all staff responsible for undertaking relevant data protection training as appropriate for their role. The Registrary has instructed that the new online data protection training should be regarded as mandatory for all UAS staff. Other staff should consult their line manager or departmental administrator if they are not sure whether they need to do the training.

Staff are encouraged to complete the training before 25 May 2018 when the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force. It is a short introductory module and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. It can be found online here: https://www.training.cam.ac.uk/cppd/course/cppd-dataprot

For more information on the GDPR and what the University is doing to prepare for it, please visit the Information Compliance website.
