For staff

Day two of Switch Off Week looks to be a hit as the event continues to ask staff and students around the University to play their part in reducing the University’s energy use.

Today and the rest of the week will continue to see some fantastic events, so join the Environment and Energy Section for fun, facts and freebies: www.environment.admin.cam.ac.uk/switch-off-week/events
Today’s headline event is a talk by Guardian columnist Chris Goodall on UK energy security – this promises to be a real highlight so make sure to head to the Mill Lane Lecture Rooms from 5.30pm for a 6pm start. The Switch Off Week Roadshow is on Downing Site quad, where you can take the Energy Bike Challenge and find out how you can help reduce the University’s energy use, as well as pick up some freebies. There is also be a presentation by Cambridge University EcoRacing at the Judge Business School at 12.45pm.
Yesterday saw a great start to Switch Off Week with the first stop on the 2014 Roadshow at the University Library, including a hotly contested leader-board on the energy bike. The winner took the top spot with a time of nearly 20 minutes.
Last night’s Stargazing evening at Astronomy included a talk by Dr. Carolin Crawford on constellations, comets and Clangers.
