For staff

Places are available for a new event aimed at helping postdocs and contract research staff get the most from their time at Cambridge.

Getting Connected: insights and opportunities for research staff will take place on 20 March in the University Centre. This is no run-of-the-mill induction event detailing the finer points of contracts, policies and benefits. Instead, attendees will be able to hear first-hand advice from other researchers on a range of topics – everything from orientating yourself at the University to developing a research career.

There will also be a short talk from Professor Jeremy Sanders, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Institutional Affairs. After the event, people can explore an exhibition of groups and services that support research activity in Cambridge. Presenters and exhibitors will include: the Postdocs of Cambridge Society; the CRASSH Postdoc Forum; the Careers Service; the Researcher Development Programme; and Cambridge Enterprise.

The event is open to all research staff but is likely to be of value to researchers who are in the initial six months of their first contract at Cambridge.
