A subsidy to reduce the cost of lunchtime meals is extended until the end of September and available at additional University cafés.
A £2 subsidy was introduced at the West Hub in October 2022 as part of a package of measures to help University of Cambridge staff and students to manage the rising cost of living over the winter months.
The University’s Resources Management Committee agreed that the subsidy will be extended until 30 September 2023 and will also apply at the two cafés at the Sidgwick site – ARC and the Buttery and at West Cambridge's West Café. The subsidy will be introduced on Tuesday 9 May. It will also be available at the Clinical School Café on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus from 15 May.
From 9 May the subsidy amount will change to a £1 price reduction. At West Hub and the Clinical School Café, the £1 subsidy will be available on the hot main meal or main meal deal and at the other sites it will apply to a sandwich, wrap or salad meal.
Both staff and students can take up the subsidy, please ensure that you have your University card with you.
