For staff

University strongly condemns letter-writing campaign, and offers support to any staff affected by harassment, violence or hate crime.

I join the chorus of voices who have strongly condemned the abhorrent national campaign of letters advocating violence against Muslims yesterday. Our thriving, multicultural community is underpinned by a mutual respect that stands against all such acts of bigotry and hatred. Cambridge is founded on understanding, respect and open dialogue among all groups. Discourses that dehumanise or denigrate persons or communities have no place here, or in a society that values such principles.
