This meeting, held live via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 6 October, was open to all staff at the University and Colleges. The panellists spoke about aspects of the University’s response to COVID-19, particularly its preparations for the new academic year. They also answered questions from staff on issues including support for staff working remotely, the best use of technology to support remote teaching and learning, and the effects of the pandemic on the University’s financial situation.

Nearly 100 questions were submitted, so it was not possible to answer them all during the meeting. All the questions have been captured and will be fed back to the relevant senior leaders and governance groups for further consideration.

Panellists included:

Professor Stephen Toope, the Vice-Chancellor

Professor Eilís Ferran, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Institutional and International Relations

Professor Graham Virgo, Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education

Dr Robert Henderson, Senior Tutor of Emmanuel College

Dr Ben Warne, Clinical Lead of the University’s asymptomatic COVID-19 screening programme
