The Greater Cambridge City Deal is considering initial ideas for a new 'Western Orbital' bus link which will improve access between North West Cambridge and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The proposed bus link will connect the south and west of the city near or alongside the M11, removing the need for busses to travel through the congested city centre. To accompany the route, new Park and Ride services and a possible cycle link between the Western Orbital and the city centre have also been proposed.

Cambridgeshire County Council is inviting businesses and local residents to have their say on the plans in a series of consultation events which run until Monday, 21 March, including a drop-in session at Lucy Cavendish on Tuesday, 8 March.

More detailed information on the proposals, including an online survey, can be found on the City Deal website: www.gccitydeal.co.uk/western-orbital3.

The Greater Cambridge City Deal is a partnership between central government, council leaders, businesses and the University of Cambridge, and aims to reduce infrastructure barriers to future economic growth in the Greater Cambridge area.
