Chance to win £250 as part of national Liftshare week.
With the national Liftshare week being celebrated from October 5 the University is offering even more incentive for staff to share their car trips to work.
The University provides staff with a totally free-to-use car-sharing website which shows who else is going the same way to work.
Staff can search for possible matches using the first four digits of their postcode, and contact the members using the internal messaging system.
Staff regularly commute from as far as Peterborough, Norwich and London to get to work.
Sharing a car:
- Reduces the costs of travelling
- Undercuts the cost of nearly all forms of transport
- Cuts congestion and pollution
- Reduces parking problems.
Staff don’t even need a car to car share; many people are happy to offer lifts in exchange for sharing the fuel costs.
As an added incentive if staff send a ‘request to share’ message between now and October 11 they will be entered in to a prize draw to win £250.
