For staff

The southern section of the Guided Busway between Cambridge Railway Station, the Biomedical Campus and Trumpington will be closed for works from Monday 1 May 2023 until early July 2023.

The closure is to facilitate the building of a new crossing point as part of the Cambridge South Railway Station planning conditions, between Francis Crick Avenue and the Addenbrooke’s spur section of the Busway. Network Rail apologises for any inconvenience caused.

During this time all buses normally using this section of the Guided Busway, including the Universal Bus service, will be diverting via Hills Road. To minimise travel delays, bus users should expect journeys to take longer than usual.

The two Foster Road stops will be closed, with the nearest alternative stop being at Trumpington Park & Ride. A new timetable for the Universal bus has just been published by Whippet and can be seen here. To keep up to date with Universal bus movements, users can download the My trip app which tracks where buses are in real time, as well as providing an option to buy tickets in advance to speed up boarding times.

The pedestrian/cycle path will remain open.
