The Divestment Working Group is running two town hall style meetings for current staff and students.

The first meeting took place on 25 October. The second meeting is on Thursday 9 November. Registrations for this meeting close on Monday 6 November - please see below for a link and more information on how to register. If the number of registrations is less than the capacity of the hall, current staff and students may be able to attend on the day without having registered. Please bring your University card with you to gain admittance.

The Council established the Divestment Working Group to consider broadly the question of divestment from businesses involved in fossil fuel extraction.

  • What would divestment mean for Cambridge?
  • How are we contributing towards a zero-carbon future? 

The working group would like to encourage a respectful, evidential and positive discussion for current staff and students.

Would you like to contribute to the discussion?

If you would like to make a contribution at the meeting please send us a written statement (maximum 500 words) which includes:  

  • a description of your views; 
  • your name;
  • your role within the University and any affiliations (including whether you represent a wider interest group).

If a high volume of contributions is received, similar viewpoints will be grouped to ensure that diverse opinions are heard. Contributors who are invited to speak on the day will be allowed a maximum of five minutes to speak. There will be 30 minutes for open discussion at the end of the meeting.
