Available now: the University of Cambridge’s Annual Environmental Sustainability Report for 2022-23.
The full annual report outlines work going on across the University to help make us a sustainable institution. Highlights of the report are summarised in a short video and an executive summary, which can be found on the same webpage.
While there is still more to be done, we would like to thank everyone who has been a part of creating a sustainable university.
Highlights for 2022-23 include:
- Appointing a new waste contractor for the whole estate and introducing some new targets. The ‘zero to landfill’ target remains, but we want to significantly increase recycling rates to 80%.
- A new fully electric fleet of buses rolled out across our extended Universal Bus network in summer 2023. The service saw a record 720,000 passengers over the year.
- The 31 Cambridge Colleges joined forces to publish an Environmental Sustainability Report highlighting the positive progress they are making.
