For staff

Dr. Florian Merkle was named a Robertson Investigator in Stem Cell Biology by the New York Stem Cell Foundation, which provides his group $1.5 million over the next five years to support research into the neuroscience of obesity.

The mission of The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) is to accelerate cures for the major diseases of our time through stem cell research. As part of this mission, the NYSCF Investigator Program provides five years of critical seed funding ($1.5 million over five years) to outstanding early career scientists, supporting them as they move beyond their postdoctoral training to establish their own, independent research. Through the NYSCF Investigator Program, NYSCF provides the support and resources necessary to cultivate a new generation of energetic, innovative neuroscientists and stem cell researchers. In addition, NYSCF prides itself on fostering a true community among its grantees by hosting regular scientific meetings and annual grantee retreats.
