Senior appointment will provide advice and guidance in the key areas of Information System Strategy and Environmental Sustainability.
Professor Ian Leslie has been appointed Senior Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor with special responsibility for Information System Strategy and Environmental Sustainability.
Information System Strategy is a complex issue for the collegiate University and Professor Leslie will play an important role providing a bridge between the academic community and the professional services.
In addition to advising the Vice-Chancellor and the senior team, he will work closely with and provide guidance to senior colleagues in University Information Services. He will also chair the Information Services Committee and the Environmental Sustainability Strategy Committee.
Professor Leslie, whose research interests have been in computer networks and operating systems, has more recently been investigating the use of information systems to reduce energy demand. He was Head of the Computer Laboratory between 1999 and 2004, and from 2004 to 2009 Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research. He has been a Fellow of Christ’s College since 1985, where he has also served as Director of Studies in Computer Science and where he has been President since 2014.
