Ángel joined the University in 2012 as International Strategy Officer, and in 2016 moved to the Office of External Affairs and Communications. He became Acting Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office in May 2018.

On his appointment, Ángel said: “It has been incredibly rewarding to support the Vice-Chancellor and the University as an Acting Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. I’m delighted to take on the role in a more formal capacity. I look forward to working closely with colleagues across the University at a very exciting and challenging time.”

“To have Ángel in the VCO over the past few months has been terrific,” said the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stephen J Toope. “I’m confident he will continue to do an outstanding job in a critical role.”
